Egyptian Food Exports to the United States Jump 32.4% in Q1 2026

Mahmoud Bazan, Chairman of the Food Export Council Egypt, said Egyptian food industry exports to the United States recorded strong growth during the first quarter of 2026, reaching around $125 million between January and March, up 32.4% compared with the same period in 2025.

Bazan: The United States Has Become a Key High-Value Market for Egyptian Food Products

Bazan noted that the U.S. market has become one of the key growth drivers for Egypt’s food industry exports, accounting for nearly 8% of the sector’s total exports during the first quarter, which reached approximately $1.681 billion.

He added that this performance reflects growing demand for Egyptian food products in high-value international markets, especially as the U.S. remains one of the world’s most competitive markets in terms of quality standards, packaging requirements, food safety regulations, and consumer expectations.

Bazan emphasized that the strong increase in exports to the U.S. sends an important message about the ability of Egyptian food companies to expand in advanced markets and strengthen the presence of value-added processed food products.

He also pointed out that this growth comes as part of a broader positive export performance for the sector across several international markets, despite global trade and logistics challenges. The Food Export Council, he said, will continue supporting member companies in opening new markets and maximizing available export opportunities.
