Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling and Concentrates has expanded into 13 new markets this year, bringing the total number of countries reached by the group’s products to more than 60 worldwide.
The expansion comes as part of the group’s strategy to strengthen exports, diversify external markets, and reduce reliance on a limited number of destinations. The company is also planning to enter the Chinese market in the coming period.
Ahmed El-Sebaie, General Manager of Egyptian Swiss Group, said the new expansion covered the group’s pasta, flour, and sauce products, with new markets across Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, and Latin America.
He said the group introduced its sauce products for the first time to Romania, Greece, France, and Zambia, as part of efforts to increase the international presence of its concentrates and sauce business and expand exports of value-added food products.
The group’s flour exports also expanded this year with entry into the Comoros market, supporting the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Africa, which remains one of the key markets for Egyptian food products, particularly flour and pasta.
Pasta accounted for the largest share of the new markets, with the company exporting to eight additional countries: Sweden, South Africa, Indonesia, Canada, Cuba, Cameroon, Mali, and Bahrain.
El-Sebai said the diversity of the new markets reflects the group’s strategy over the past five years to build a broader and more diversified export base, helping the company respond more effectively to changes in global markets and international trade.
He added that the group has intensified its export focus in recent years and expanded its presence across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America, supported by the competitiveness of Egyptian food products and their ability to meet different international market requirements.
During the first half of 2026, Egyptian Swiss maintained a strong share of Egypt’s exports, accounting for around 15% of total Egyptian flour exports and around 10% of pasta exports.
Egypt’s total flour exports reached around 389,000 tons, worth $130.9 million, during the first half of 2026. Pasta exports reached around 112,800 tons, worth $62.4 million, during the same period.
The group is now targeting entry into China as part of its plans to expand further in Asia. The company sees the market as a major opportunity for food products and part of its wider strategy to diversify export destinations.
The current expansion builds on the group’s export growth in recent years. Egyptian Swiss products reached more than 40 countries in 2025, before the export map expanded gradually to more than 60 countries this year.
The group supports its international expansion through an integrated production base covering pasta, milling, and concentrates, in addition to wheat storage silos, which gives it greater flexibility in sourcing raw materials and managing production and exports.
Founded in 1995 through grain and flour trading, Egyptian Swiss later expanded into manufacturing by establishing mills in Borg El Arab and 10th of Ramadan, before adding pasta and concentrates production. Today, the group operates across several key segments of the food industry.
The company is betting on further expansion in international markets, particularly destinations with strong demand growth, while benefiting from Egypt’s trade agreements with African, Arab, and global markets to strengthen its export competitiveness.
